Christmas and NY - the end of 2007

My lack of recent postings is probably indicative of the hectic life I have been living since my return from the rock. Instead of listing all my social engagements, I'll cut to the chase. Christmas was a on event for me. As I don't have children or a partner, I decided to opt out of the usual festive goings on, by spending the day alone doing something constructive. This Christmas I volunteered for the Crisis Open Christmas campaign. I worked 3 night shifts (around 11 hours each) which included the 23rd, 24th (into Christmas day) and the 30th. It was hard work adn a real eye opener. I would deffo do it again. Met a lot of really interesting and decent people - guests AND volunteers. New years celebrations were rather muted. Was supposed to go to Brixton Academy but I was so full of cold, I slept all day then went to Gregs' to catch up with some friends and stay up all night doing the usual celebration thing. I also managed to go to Brighton to pick up a car, a Rover 214. It's in excellent condition, so I couldn't say no. However, a week later I took it to Halfords to get a new stereo fitted and as soon as they did that, my car wouldn't start. So, I had it towed back to Brighton and then had to take a series of trains to make an appointment in Oxford, where I was around 7 hours late. I am in the process of getting the car fixed and making a formal complaint to Halfords for compensation.
